The Islamic Christian Organization for the Support of Jerusalem and the Holy Sites warned on Monday of the repercussions of what it described as the drying up of Arab financial support for the occupied city of Jerusalem.
The authority said in a statement it received Jerusalem News Agency A copy of it states that this year witnessed a serious and unprecedented decline in the level of financial support provided by a number of Arab countries to occupied Jerusalem.
The authority added, “A number of governmental and civil committees that were formed in some Arab countries and that provided direct support to dozens of Jerusalemite institutions were unfortunately frozen for reasons that were not disclosed.”
The authority indicated in its statement that cutting off this aid caused the interruption of vital services that were provided to Jerusalemites, especially in terms of health, academic, vocational and technical education, all the way to some community colleges for which support was lifted last month.
The Authority said that the city of Jerusalem and its institutions did not benefit effectively from the Arab support funds that were allocated to support the city’s steadfastness except in a small amount, noting that a large portion of the announced support did not arrive, while the portion that did arrive was diverted to other projects outside the city of Jerusalem.
The statement stated that dozens of cultural, social and sports institutions in Jerusalem are suffering from a stifling financial situation that threatens to close them and lay off their employees.
The decline in financial support for Jerusalem comes at a time when the bill of steadfastness in the city is rising in the face of the largest and most violent fierce Judaization campaign the Holy City has witnessed since 1967 AD, and in light of the disgraceful absence of a Palestinian-Arab plan capable of confronting the Judaization plan, which is proceeding at an accelerating pace and supported by huge budgets, according to a statement. Commission.
The Christian Islamic Society called on the Arab and Islamic world to assume its responsibilities towards the city of Jerusalem before it is too late, and to allocate a meaningful budget capable of providing the minimum requirements for the steadfastness of Jerusalemites and their institutions.
