France expressed its concern after the Israeli occupation government’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, stormed the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and “about the increase in acts of violence against Palestinians in the West Bank.”
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement: “France recalls the necessity of fully preserving the historical status quo in the holy places in Jerusalem, and the importance of the special role played by Jordan in this regard, and will condemn any attempt to undermine that.”
She stressed “the urgent need to stop the settlement policy that endangers the implementation of the two-state solution, that is, an Israeli state and a Palestinian state living side by side in peace and security, with their common capital being Jerusalem.”
The French Foreign Ministry stressed that “this is the only solution that allows for a just and sustainable peace for both Israelis and Palestinians.”
