Today, Tuesday, the “Early Release” Committee refused to consider the request to release prisoner Ahmed Manasra, which was submitted by the defense team due to the serious deterioration in his health and psychological condition.

Lawyer Khaled Zabarqa said in a press statement that the committee rejected the request to release prisoner “Manasra” on the grounds that his file was classified under the “Terrorism Law.”

On the 22nd of this month, the committee responsible for considering the release of prisoner Ahmed Manasra decided to classify his file as a “terrorist act” according to the definition of the Israeli “counter-terrorism” law.

The prisoner’s defense team, “Manasra,” rejected the decision, adding that it was a wrong decision from a legal and constitutional standpoint, and a clear violation of the foundations of the local and international legal system, especially the legal system related to minor children.

On June 19, the occupation court in Ramla concluded a session to consider classifying the case file of prisoner Ahmed Manasra under the “Terrorism Law,” before the special committee to consider it, without taking any decision.

“Manasra” faces difficult and dangerous health and psychological conditions in solitary confinement in “Eshel” prison in Beersheba.

The prisoner Al-Maqdisi was arrested on the pretext of carrying out a stabbing attack in the “Pisgat Zeev” settlement in 2015 with his cousin, the martyr Hassan Manasra, and he was sentenced to 12 years in prison at that time, which was later commuted to nine and a half years in 2017.

The prisoner Manasra is a resident of the town of Beit Hanina, north of occupied Jerusalem. When he was arrested, he was a student at the New Generation School in Jerusalem, and he was 13 years old at the time.
