The General Authority for Youth and Culture in Gaza concluded on Thursday the international research competition “Arab and Islamic Efforts to Serve Jerusalem,” which it organized in cooperation with the Palestine-Malaysia Strategic Initiative Center, and witnessed wide participation from Palestinian and Arab researchers.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Commission, Ahmed Muheisen, the Chairman of the Jerusalem Committee in the Palestinian Legislative Council, Ahmed Abu Halabiya, the Director of the Strategic Initiative Center Palestine - Malaysia, Ibrahim Al-Zaim, and the Chairman of the Competition Jury, Osama Abu Nahl, in addition to members of the Jury, the Competition Committee, and the winning researchers and participants. in the competition.
During his speech, Muhaisen explained that the competition came as part of the Authority’s efforts to enhance awareness of the importance of scientific research in topics related to the Palestinian issue in general and the Jerusalem issue in particular, and to draw attention to the dangers facing the occupied city of Jerusalem and the occupation’s conspiracies around it.
Muheisen pointed out that the competition aims to identify the efforts of the official and popular Arab and Islamic countries to serve Jerusalem through research and study, and to enhance Palestinian, Islamic and Arab national belonging and feeling towards the issue of Jerusalem, and to provide the Arab library with intellectual production about the city of Jerusalem, indicating that the volume of participation, interaction and interest revealed the The deep extension of the Palestinian issue into the souls of Arabs and Muslims.
Muhaisen stressed the importance of concerted national, Arab and Islamic efforts to confront the fierce attack on the city of Jerusalem, which aims to falsify its history, Judaize its Arab and Islamic features, and impose a temporal and spatial division on Al-Aqsa Mosque, stressing the importance of cultural resistance to strengthen the Palestinian narrative and national rights.
For his part, Abu Halabiya stressed that the city of Jerusalem is exposed to great dangers aimed at Judaizing the Holy City, noting the continuation of excavations under Al-Aqsa Mosque, the displacement operations, the theft of lands, real estate and homes, the imposition of taxes, and the targeting of the cultural movement in the city of Jerusalem, appreciating the efforts made by the Commission to make it a success. Research competition and encouraging researchers to produce research on the city of Jerusalem.
Abu Halabiya stressed the need to spread Jerusalemite culture to the emerging generations and Palestinian and Arab youth, strengthen their connection to the city of Jerusalem, and communicate the suffering of the Jerusalemites to the world.
For his part, Al-Zaeem indicated that the competition is an extension of the joint cooperation between the Authority and the Center, pointing out that the Center has allocated the next year to highlight the issue of Palestinian prisoners in occupation prisons by implementing various activities and programs to communicate the issue of prisoners to the world.
It is noteworthy that the competition committee announced earlier the names of the winners of the competition, which were as follows: In the Arabic language, researcher Khaled Kiwan from Syria won first place and a prize worth $1,200, and researcher Rabab Al-Shweiki from Palestine won second place and a prize worth $800.
While the researchers Ali Asalia and Hala Al-Harazin from Palestine won third place and a prize worth $600, the researchers Ahmed Abu Youssef, Naeem Baroud, Mahmoud Assaf, Salim Al-Hashash, Muhammad Al-Seikali and Rizq Hajjaj from Palestine, the researcher Jaresh Nasr from Algeria, and the researcher Ayman Hassan from Egypt. , won fourth place and a prize worth $200 for each research.
In addition, the 12 researchers who ranked fifth were awarded a prize worth $100 for each research.
In the English language, researcher Khaled Issa won third place and a prize worth $600, and researchers Sami Al-Astal, Abdullah Abdel Ghafour, Hazem Al-Shaarawi, Jwaida Mansour, Dima Al-Sousi, Mohsen Al-Nadawi, and Hanin Al-Houli won fourth place and a prize worth $200 for each research. .
