The Jerusalem Center for Studies warned of the occupation's continued attempts to impose new conditions in Al-Aqsa Mosque during the coming period, and to achieve its goals by plundering the mosque.

The director of the Jerusalem Center, Ziyad Al-Hamouri, said, “The occupation authorities, the Israeli occupation, are trying to change the reality in Al-Aqsa Mosque,” noting that the United States is encouraging the occupation to commit more crimes against our people and their sanctities.

Al-Hamouri warned against the occupation’s attempts to establish the alleged temple on the ruins of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, pointing out that the occupation and extremist settlement groups created an entire city under the Old City of Jerusalem.

In a related context, a member of the Islamic Authority in Jerusalem, Muhammad Dhiyab Abu Saleh, said that the occupation authorities are seeking to build settlement outposts around Al-Aqsa Mosque to tighten the stranglehold on the mosque and change the reality.

Abu Saleh explained that the occupation seeks to impose control over the lands of the Jerusalemites, and is harassing the Jerusalemites with all its force, cunning, and settlement and Judaization plans to seize their lands.

Over the course of a week, Al-Aqsa witnessed massive incursions by hundreds of settlers to celebrate the so-called Hebrew holiday of Hanukkah.

Since 2017, the “Temple groups” have been seeking to develop their aggression during this holiday, such that they light the menorah in the Lions’ Gate, and bring the ritual of lighting it inside Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The settlers deliberately dance, sing, and celebrate “Hanukkah” at the gates of Al-Aqsa, such as the gates of Al-Silsilah, Al-Ghawanmeh, and Al-Qattanin.
