The name of Sheikh Maher Hammoud emerged widely during the unfortunate events that struck the Ain al-Hilweh camp recently, as they spared no effort to try to stop the waterfall of Palestinian blood in the camp.

In this article, we will briefly review the biography of this scholar who supported the resistance and Al-Ribat in Al-Aqsa.

Sheikh Maher Hammoud was born in Sidon in 1953. He was one of the founders of the Islamic Group and its Islamic Youth League.

During the Lebanese Civil War, he declared his clear position rejecting the fight against the Palestinian people and the alliance of Christian isolation with the occupation, and he was given the title of lawyer for the Palestinian people.

He left Sidon under pressure from isolationist forces, and was present in Beirut during the Zionist aggression in 1982, and there he supported the Palestinian resistance during the siege of Beirut.

During the period of resistance to the Zionist occupation of Sidon, the Sheikh headed the Islamic Front there, which emerged from the Islamic Resistance, which included various sects and Islamic resistance movements, between 1982 and 1985.

MOGHG The War of the Camps Sheikh Maher stood against the shedding of the blood of the Palestinian people, and organized a march with the bodies of scholars in Maghdoucheh to prevent Amal fighters from attacking the camp and its borders.

He was the most prominent initiator in resolving the problems in Ain al-Hilweh between 1992 and 2007.

The late Palestinian President Yasser Arafat granted him a Palestinian passport in 2002.

The last thing he mediated before the events of Ain al-Hilweh was his mediation to resolve the dispute between Fatah and Hamas after the Burj al-Shamali massacre.

Sheikh Maher Hamoud calls for and support the Al-Ribat in Al-Aqsa on an ongoing basis, and spares no effort to support the Al-Murabitun with what he has.
