In a retaliatory step against him, as a result of his activity in the Committee to Protect the Al-Bustan Neighborhood in Silwan, the Israeli occupation authorities demolished the house of the specialist in Jerusalem affairs, Fakhri Abu Diab.
The occupation forces stormed Abu Diab's house in the Al-Bustan neighborhood yesterday morning, Wednesday, and forced him and his family to leave the house urgently in preparation for its demolition.
In conjunction with the demolition operation, the occupation forces surrounded the Al-Bustan neighborhood, northwest of the town of Silwan, and prevented all those in solidarity with him present in the place from being in the vicinity of the house.
Abu Diab considered what happened to him yesterday evening a systematic targeting as part of a policy that the occupation began on 10/7/2023 through retaliation against activists against the occupation policies in Jerusalem by demolishing their homes, preventing them from traveling, and other punitive measures.
Abu Diab built his house in the Al-Bustan neighborhood about 35 years ago, and its area was 120 square meters. Despite Abu Diab paying taxes to the occupation municipality over the past years, the occupation demolished the house under the pretext of “building without a license.”
