The occupation municipality has completed the process of converting land owned by Jerusalemites in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem into a parking lot for settlers’ vehicles.

The occupation's Supreme Court issued a decision to confiscate the land in November 2021, which had an area of 4,700 square meters, and belongs to Jerusalemites from the Obeidat, Awda, Jadallah and Mansour families.

This comes at a time when the occupation forces seized about 2,640 dunums of land from the towns of Abu Dis and Al-Eizariya with the aim of creating geographical continuity between the settlements of “Kedar” and “Ma’ale Adumim,” which are built on citizens’ lands east of occupied Jerusalem.

This settlement crime will lead to the isolation of the Bedouin communities: Wadi Abu Hindi and the Awaj community from Al-Eizariya and Abu Dis, within settlement areas and the tightening of the closure of the eastern slopes.

Human rights organizations confirmed that the occupation authorities have strengthened their settlement projects in Jerusalem after October 7, and have established 9 settlement outposts and 18 colonial roads for the benefit of the settlers so far.

During the month of February, the occupation municipality approved new settlement plans west and south of Jerusalem, and settlement groups seized important land in the heart of the town of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
