Today, Tuesday, the Israeli occupation intelligence summoned the preacher of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Akram Sabri, for investigation at the Al-Maskobiya investigation center, west of Jerusalem.
Sheikh Akram Sabri's legal office said that the occupation intelligence raided the Sheikh's house in the Al-Suwana neighborhood in central Jerusalem and handed him a summons for investigation.
The legal office added, in a brief statement, that Sheikh Akram Sabri will be investigated in “Rooms Section 4” at the Moskobiyeh Prison in Jerusalem.
For his part, Sheikh Sabri’s lawyer, Hamza Qatina, stated that the investigation session with the Sheikh began at nine o’clock in the morning and is a continuation of the investigation with him on the claim of inciting terrorism and praising a terrorist organization.
The occupation forces arrested Sheikh Sabri, early last August, after he mourned the martyred head of the Hamas movement, Ismail Haniyeh, during the Friday sermon in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and he was charged with “supporting terrorism and praising a terrorist organization.”
Sheikh Akram Sabri was released at that time, on condition that he be kept away from the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque for a period of 6 months.
Sheikh Akram Sabri holds the position of head of the Supreme Islamic Council, preacher of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and one of the most prominent Palestinian religious and national authorities in Jerusalem. The Sheikh is known for his positions defending the Arab and Islamic right to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
