The Jordanian Journalists Syndicate Council condemned the occupation’s violations in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, the latest of which was the storming of the mosque’s courtyards by extremist Israeli Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, in coordination with settlers.

In a statement, the Council warned the occupation authorities of the consequences of its continued crimes and violations.

He considered that the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the provocative practices against it are an unacceptable aggression and a flagrant violation of international law and the existing historical and legal situation in Jerusalem and its sanctities.

He explained that these violations are pushing the situation into a continuing cycle of violence, stressing his continued support for the freedom of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on their national soil with Jerusalem as its capital, and the right of Jerusalemites to defend Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Islamic and Christian holy sites.

The Council paid a tribute of respect and admiration to the Almoravids who demonstrated the highest meanings of heroism and sacrificed their souls and pure blood in order to defend the holy sites, perform religious rituals in Al-Aqsa Mosque, and resist the settlers and prevent them from desecrating the holy sites.

He appreciated the positions of the Jordanian leadership, government and people, praising the efforts of King Abdullah II, and his confirmation that Jerusalem is a red line, preserving the role of historical Hashemite custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, and protecting the holy sites, their identity, and the existing historical and legal situation therein.
