On Thursday, the Israeli occupation authorities released Jerusalemite prisoner Majd Maher Rushdi Karaki (29 years old), from the town of Al-Tur in occupied Jerusalem, after he completed his sentence of eight years and two months.

The Committee of the Families of Jerusalemite Prisoners and Detainees stated that Majd was arrested on 10/25/2014 and was then subjected to a lengthy interrogation by the Israeli intelligence service at the Al-Maskobiyah center, west of occupied Jerusalem.

The occupation court convicted prisoner Majd al-Karaki of participating in several activities inside the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and issued an unjust sentence against him to eight years in prison, and recently the sentence was increased for an additional two months.

The committee added that Majd was punished several times by the occupation prison administration, due to his participation with his fellow prisoners in struggle activities and his confrontation of unjust policies within the prisons of captivity.

She pointed out that Majd continued his academic studies and was able to obtain a bachelor’s degree in social service, in addition to a group of courses and courses, and he excelled in writing poetry and composing songs.

She indicated that prisoner Majd was transferred to several prisons, and was released today from the Negev Desert Prison.
